Quests may not be an effective means of earning Gil in Final Fantasy XIV unless players are focused on reaching a specific end-game goal, as quest rewards tend to be relatively small in comparison with the larger scale and repeating dungeons is an ineffective means of accruing Gil.
However, there are ways to improve gil-making in Final Fantasy XIV; such as participating in Moogle Treasure Trove events offering popular items (minion and mount rewards) on the Market Board to sell and save considerable sums of money in doing so.

Treasure Maps
One of the best ways to earn Gil in Final Fantasy XIV is through treasure maps. These dungeons contain various rewards that include Gil and crafting resources; however, this method takes both time and patience as each floor may take several hours to complete.
However, some treasure maps require players to join a party that will share loot equally – something which may prove frustrating for lower level players. Even so, such maps offer high rewards such as dragonskins or gazelleskins that may help make up for this inconvenience.
